    ammo find report...

Having three .38 Super 1911s - 1971 Colt Combat Commander Lightweight, Series 70 MkIV Government, and a Rock Island 1911A1, I am always looking for "deals" on ammo.

I belong to the Michigan Gun Owners (MGO) website; someone was trying to sell "some" .38 Super and reloading dies including a resizing die.

I got my .38 Super Friday; 24 boxes - 1,200 rounds. 1,050 rounds are Union Metallic Cartridge Co. (Remington) yellow box 130 gr. ball; 100 rounds are Winchester 130 gr. ball, and 50 rounds are PMC 115 gr. JHP. With the dies included (for an additional $10!) it cost me $385 total! Subtracting the shipping (UPS Ground) and $10 for the dies, it works out to around $14.79 a box of 50. Checking around, I saved about $5 a box.

This is the 2nd time I've made a "deal" for .38 Super found on MGO; last year I traded 120 rounds of 7.5 Swiss and 200 rounds of Lake City 7.62x51 for 1,000 rounds of .38 Super including 10 boxes of SilverTips.

I just have to do two things; pick up the brass...and learn to reload!

Sounds Like a good deal to me...Why haven't you started reloading. Heaven knows you have the guns to support the habit!

Mike - two reasons....sloth (aka procrastination) and buying the "right" reloading press...

I will after I get my VA Settlement.
