After I woke up this afternoon (working midnights now) I went to the range to try out my new SIG P238. I like it! I fired a mix of 84 rounds; Jacket Hollowpoint, Jacketed Round Nose, and Jacketed Semi-wadcutter.
All flawless; no failures of any kind whatsoever.

Ammo used

The first two targets were to test function of the gun and various ammo; the last target was 30 rounds of the WinClean 95 gr. BEB (brass enclosed base), which is like a semi-wadcutter. I fired these rounds from 3-1/2, 7, and 15 yards, which is the CBP Qual course. From the 3-1/2 yard line its 6 rounds strong hand and 6 rounds support hand only; at the 7 yard line its 2 rounds center mass 3 times then two rounds center mass, 1 head shot, twice. Finally at the 15 yard line its 2 rounds support side barricade, two rounds strong side barricade, and finally 2 rounds kneeling barricade, strong side. Although the gun is a natural from 7 yards in, it didn't do too bad at 15 yards either.
Overall I was impressed with the P238; recoil was very soft considering the size of the gun; grip was a two finger grip with the pinkie resting on the base of the magazine. My local gun shop called to tell me to tell me they found a Colt Mustang magazine with the finger extension; which makes to grip even better. From what I've read the the Mustang mags are supposed to function flawlessly - next range trip I will try it.
