    Factory .454 dia, LC rounds?

Anyone know if "stock" .45 LC factory rounds are being produced with a .454 diameter bullet? If so, what manufacturer?

Remington makes and markets a swaged lead bullet of the original BP style that is listed as .455 diameter and 250 gr. You need to check and see if that is the bullet that they load in their "45 Colt Express Lead Round Nose" factory ammunition. I strongly suspect it is. Midway has it listed for $43.49 for a box of 50.

I think Midway markets this bullet for loading. I have some Remington .45 Colt loads, guess I could pull one & mike it??

I pulled a bullet from a Rem. 255gr lead RNFP factory load & it miked .45215. The crimp wasn't completely straightened out from pulling instead of shooting, so It could have maybe swaged the bullet some, but that is what I measured it. Those loads are very accurate for me.

I've looked at that bullet, but its been a long time. It seems to me that it had a slight concave base, not enough to be called a hollow base, and they were dead soft, coated with the same black dry lube that Remington uses on their 38/148 target bullets; nasty but it works.
