my questions are
how old is this revolver?
is the .32 police ctg. interchangeable with .32 smith and wesson long ctg.?

Yes -- the .32 Colt Police is the same as the .32 S&W Long. Are you sure about the serial number? If so, it was made about 1940 or later. The first serial number listed for 1940 is 159000.
