    9mm with Unique?

    Caliber: 9mm

Use: looking for soft shooting, paper punching loads (will not be used for carry or personal defense)

    Pistol: Colt Combat Commander/4.24" barrel

    Loader: Dillon SDB

Bullets: 124 and 147 grain TCJ FMJ

Powder: Unique (all I could find in stock locally)

Set up and ready to work the handle for the first time.

    Your recommendations?

(searched through many other threads, but I guess I overlooked recommendations using Unique powder)

    Doc,

    Look here: http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/index.aspx

Jacketed bullet weights are the same and should get you close. Remember to back off about 10% and work up.

    thanks!

    quite the learning experience

The SDB loader had some issues, so I ended up loading 124's like a single stage and measuring and weighing each individual round.

Probably the best way to start.

If your Dillon is giving problems, call them. They are great people & really do want you to get the most from their product. They can probably talk you through any problems right on the phone & if they can't send it in, they will take care of it. Their customer service is tops.

I've worked up to 5.8 grains of Unique with a 125 grain bullet seeking reliable function in my Luger. 4.3 is a mild load if the pistol will give dependable function with it.
