    Federal Premium in 38 Special

Federal Premium 38 special NyCladŽ lead core hollow-point 125 grain. Is this load any good in the 2" Detective Special? More yet does it burn up most of the powder in this short barrel?

I love the Nyclad in Short Barrel Revolvers. I'm glad it's available again. But I prefer the 158 Gr.

The Nyclads work fine in my DSes. My experience with them is they shoot closer to point of aim elevation wise than the 158grain loads.

Both of my Dectective Spls shoot high, One is a 94 model and the other is a 67 gun.

Nyclad has some muzzle signature, and are loud for a 38 but no signs of excess pressure.

I've got my 642 loaded with them right now. It's these or the Remington 158 gr. LSWCHP +P.

I prefer 158 gr ammo in my revolvers (2", 4", and 6" bbl). They shoot to POA much better. Plus, I always lean towards bigger is better.

I agree bigger is better, but does the 158 gr. hollow point really open up when shot out of a 2 inch barrel?
