Works fine in my Bushmaster.
Has anyone fired this steel cased ammo through their semi-autos? Im concerned the steel cases will scratch internal surfaces of the receiver or load ramp.
Does anyone have experience with this or wolf/herters ammo? Is it smart to use steel in a colt?
The steel used in former Com-Block countries is fairly soft, although a bit harder than brass. It shouldn't damage anything you use it in. The big problem with steel-cased ammo, especially small rifle calibers, was the lacquer coating that was originally used. As the gun heated up, the lacquer would get sticky and stick the case to the chamber if one was left there while the rifle cooled. A subsequent shot could then rip the neck off the case. Easily fixed with a stuck case extractor. More recent Russian ammo has a different coating that is less prone to this, but I still won't let a steel case sit in a hot chamber for long.
The fact that the neck could be torn from these steel cases is an indicator of their softness.

I have shot the .40 cal in a Glock 23 and the 9 mm in an HK P30. Did not experience any problems.
My Colt .45 Combat Elite eats any and all steel cased ammo W/O problems. Give it a try. The nice part of steel cased ammo in an auto is you don't have to chase it or bend down to pick it up.
