Thats good to hear!! Sounds like money well spent -- NOW GET THAT CEILING PAINTED !!!!! ( Man I hate house painting!!)
Friday I got my Pre-Series 80 Combat Commander .45 and Charles Daly M5 (Bul of Israel made) back from David Sams Custom Gunworks, LLc. Call the work done my anniversary present; I retired from the Coast Guard effective 1 June 2001; hard to believe its been 10 years - I've been divorced, married, divorced, and re-married, buried my Mother and a lot of other life issues. My Combat Commander has been with me since I paid $325 for it back in 1982-3. (With inflation, it would be $730 to buy it today!)
Today, after scratching several items off the wife's honey-do list (tomorrow I have to paint the living room ceiling) I slipped away to the range. They had a 600 yard rifle match scheduled until 3:30 today and were still shooting at 4:30; the way the ranges are situated you can not shoot on any outdoor range when the long distance boys are shooting...
All I can say about how the guns shoot now is WOW! Someday I hope to be able to shoot them both to the level they are capable of being shot. I ran 36 rounds of 230 grain ball and 20 rounds of Winchester Silvertips through the CC from 7, 10, and 25 yards; with the Novak sights (including the gold bead front) and the 4.5# trigger, plus all the internal work to the gun it was like shooting something brand new that was already broken in. David regulated the sights for a center hold at 25 yards; so I had to make some adjustments to my aim points closer in.
I shot 50 rounds of Blazer aluminum cased 230 grain ball ammo out of the Daly M5; and only had 1 failure - the 2nd round of my last magazine; I changed my grip; putting my support hand higher up the pistol grip. The slide did not move forward - I suspect I pushed the slide stop up enough to stop the slide. Resuming my normal grip the remaining 8 rounds went off without a hitch.
I am pleased with how both pistols shot; David Sams does some quality work - I just may have to send off another of my 1911s to him for more work...

This is America - You don't redistribute wealth. You earn it !! " Shoot em in the right eye - it spoils their aim!"
