Over the past couple of weeks I have had time for some range time. First trip I took five 1911 types. LB TRS, SA TRP, S70 GC, SA Loaded Champion. Colt Delta Elite. Shot all at 25 yds, offhand, two hand grip.
The TRS was the winner by a half inch over the TRP, 5.25 and 5.75 inches. S70 GC was just behind at 6.25. The surprise was the Champ tied the GC! The Delta 10 was not as good but a respectable 7" and then it really rings the 50 yd gong! The 10 can reach out and touch.
Second trip I took three 9mm's and a 38 Super. Colt S70 and S80 5" 9mm's and a Combat Commander 38 Super. Took along my long owned Ruger P89DC as it had not been out of the safe in some time. The 9's are fun to shoot. The S80 consistently outshoots the S70 by full inch! My P89 is right with them but I did some extensive trigger work on it a few years ago. Feels clunky after the 1911s! The 38Super is one of my favorites though not my most accurate. I keep playing with it and it will get there. Shot all at 15 yds. S80 will hold 4"-5", S70 add 1/2". P89 gets in at 5" and 38Super at 6"-7". ll standing, two hand Weaver.
The bad guys would not enjoy any of them!
