    Question OK to mix brass

I understand that when reloading shotshells you need to use the specific shell with a specific wad and a specific primer however does that hold true for reloading rifle and handgun cartridges? In other words can I use the same recipe of bullet, primer and powder while reloading Win brass and RP brass or do I need to separate the brass and work up the load for each brand?

I keep mine seperate because I have so many of each. If you are reloading revolver rounds and not at the max. pressure level, then its usually fine but you may notice some brands of cases need fine tuning with your dies. When loading 45 acp, winchester brass appears thicker and holds a cast lead bullet sized to .452 much firmer than the RP brass that appears thinner with my dies. My .223 loads for the M16 are just above starting loads wtih BL-C(2), so I am mixing brass with no issues to date.

SmKummer nailed it. With revolvers its not too big of a deal though if you are using below max. I do it frequently with 38 specials loaded with wadcutters for shooting targets for fun and practice.
