Speer gold dot ammo

I have a new agent. 45 that is my new carry gun,I have always carried speer gold dots/230 gr. ammo.I have used this ammo in my anniversary tier III and my Springfield range officer.I love the round and will continue its use in these firearms....has anyone used the short barrel ammo in the new agent or another 3" barrel?Chances are very good that this short barrel ammo is awesome,but does anyone have some input???? Thanx in advance for the opinions!!!!

I haven't used it in that caliber. However I use the 135 grain short barrel +P .38 load in my snub nose. It chronographs an average that is just scary close to the velocity claimed on their website. I tested them out of an airweight S&W 442 and it was within 10 FPS of their published velocity. That was very surprising, as I'm used to the old days when all published data usually came from unvented test barrels. I love the gold dot loadings and use them in my 9mm too.

I love the Gold Dot bullets and use them in several calibers. When I had a LW Officers ACP (3.5" barrel) I carried the Gold Dot short barrel ammo. It shot great and was very accurate. I tested it for expansion in milk jugs full of water, which I realize is not super scientific, but I got picture perfect expansion.
