Today I came home from the gun show with a prize I have been searching for for yrs. A RG .22 short rev. IN WORKING COND!!!!!!!!
At first I was hesitant to pay the price that the saavy dealer demanded. But after I thought about how proud and happy my grandchildren would be once this masterpiece of firearms engenieering passed down to them, I cowboyed up, and gave him the $10. OK, I'm eating off the $1 menu tonight, but someday.......Yes someday, it will be worth it!

What can I say? RGs are a guilty pleasure for me. But I've yet to own one as I can't seem to find one at the right price........$10
Good job! |

I just love the feel of those RGs. And the history of those fine old firearms is enough to make me feel a part of the old west. When I hold one in my hand, it transports me back in time to another era when I didn't have diddly! You can buy an imitation, but it's not really an RG!

....and a rich history they have. Pachuco's in Zoot suits, Greasers in white T's and dungarees, the odd law abiding citizen who couldn't afford anything else and the bad cops who kept one or two on hand for throw aways and throw downs. Wait, I feel a film noir moment coming on, must watch B&W 50's film.
![]() In all seriousness, I used one back in the 70's while running trout lines and it always went bang and was fish head accurate at about 5 ft.

R.G. was a cheaply made revolver imported from Germany in the 1950's-60's and generaly sold by mail order (before the 1968 gun control act) for around $12-$15 Most (but not all) were .22short cal.
Although regarded as a joke by serious shooters, the R.G. has probably sent quite a few people to the 'happy hunting grounds.'

I sold mine, foolishly, years ago. I don't know what I was thinking, the barrel was still attached and everything. Those white plastic grips, glistening in the moonlight, the feel of the trigger - scraping along the side of the frame, the BIG DANGED BOOM when it actually went off.
Your story has brought old memories to life I thought I had left forever - yeah I got 10 bucks and was happy as a clam.
