No you can't file it, and No the parts, though similar in appearance, have some small differences. Some parts can swap Out, BUT Uberti does not Make any of the Parts for the Colt SAA. As for the Cimarron, those guns are Final Assembled in Texas, with upgraded parts and workmanship, NOT found on EMF or Standard Models.

Okay Try This, there may be enough play in the screw hole of the Spring to allow it to be pushed toward the front of the revolver while tightening the Screw..Try That First. It will take both your hands so have the frame secure. Make sure it's installed correctly and that the Hammer is resting down against the frame.

I just ordered two more from Cimarron for their "Pistolero"
We'll see if that does the trick. From what I've seen in my dad's gun, their springs don't look as beefy as Colt's but they should do the trick |

Doug, just to make sure I understand, are you saying that the bolt is snapping up too late when you cock the hammer? The would be the 3rd click in a 4 click SAA type revolver.
Someone can correct me but I believe the bolt should snap up and hit the ramp part of the cylinder notch when the hammer is cocked. If it's late, then the forked ends of the bolt are slightly too long. One of the forked ends slides off the cam on the hammer. If the forked end is too long then the bolt rises late. In other words, it might not be a spring problem at all. Can you compare the original bolt with your new bolt and see if the forked ends are the same length when you line the pivot holes up exactly? 2 spare ones came today from Cimmaron. Gun works fine now. Bolt drops right in the middle of the ramp before the notch. (I think the with the original spring the bolt dropped in the middle of the cylinder rotation somewhere...but that's perfectly okay, as long as the gun works right) Dad now has his .45 back to carry in my woods to protect himself against snakes and bear
