    Wow. Now that right there is why I joined this forum. I learn something new every day about the Colt SAA. I recently acquired my first Colt SAA also. I did not know that about lowering the hammer, yet, I don't think that I have ever lowered it from any position than from the full cock position. But I will know not to, for sure now. Thanks Tomray.

    Re: the Blemish........I'd probably leave that alone...........If you are going to shoot the gun, you'll pick up other "Character Marks" as well...............Although, if it really bothers you, you could probably mask it by applying Cold Blue solution "Gingerly" to the blemish only with a toothpick..............

    Welcome to the forum, I'm glad you are here with us.................

    Beautiful SAA! Please be warned that a solo Colt SAA gets lonely and before long will start begging you for a sibling! I thought I could survive with only one, but that critter got lonely and now has half dozen playmates!

    Enjoy!

    Oh don't I know it. I'm already wanting another! I'm thinking I'll go ahead and place an order with Colt and have it in 2-3 years.......while looking for others in the meantime! ( ;

    Welcome aboard from Middle TN! I don't worry about wear on my firearms. I'm a shooter and not a collector. Invest in a good set of screw drivers. I have sets by Grace and Brownells and use them interchangeably. If the blade fit is a bit sloppy, a layer of Kleenex around the blade will keep the screw slot scratches to a minimum. Life is too short not to enjoy your SAA!
