WTB Colt Frontier Scout .22 mag cylinder

    Howdy folks,

As the title says, I am looking to purchase a .22 mag cylinder for my Dad's Colt Frontier Scout. If anyone has one for sale, I'd be grateful if you could contact me.

    Thanks!
    Matt

    Magnum Cylinder

Matt - I collect the Frontier Scouts myself and have some surplus cylinders. If you can tell me the exact model you need the cylinder for, I can tell you if I have one.
What letter is in the serial number? Q, F, K or P? Or is it a G model (Peacemaker 22/New Frontier 22)? What is the approximate serial number? Is it blue or nickel finish? Is the cylinder in the gun marked .22 LR or is it unmarked?
The differences are primarily cosmetic, that is to say, blue or nickel, glossy or dull. Physically, these cylinders are all very much the same and should fit in any similar revolver.
Also, what condition do you want? I have some used ones and some that are like new.
These cylinders are getting hard to find in nice condition and consequently are not cheap.

    Best Regards,
    Bruce Buckner

Thanks for taking time to write back Bruce!

I checked the serial number on it, and it is "2022--F". The gun itself has a sort of black anodized finished, so I believe I would need the blued mag cylinder. The cylinder that is in it is marked ".22 LR".

My dad shoots this gun quite a bit, so it is not a "safe queen" by any stretch. However since it will be used fairly regularly, I'd like to find a mag cylinder in relatively good condition.

If you have something that will fit the bill, please drop me a line or a PM and I will give you a ring.

Thanks so much for the help!

    -Matt

do you have a 22 mag cylinder

i recently bought a colt scout and i dont know if it is a mag or not. it is unmarked and the mag shells fit fine but i do not want to damage the gun by using the wrong ammo. theserial number ends with an F if that helps at all. you can contact me thru my email. trgreenis@comcast.net that way it comes to my phone and i can get back to you right away. thank you

I have attached a photo of the rear of a Colt Frontier Scout .22 Magnum cylinder. If your cylinder looks like this one, it is chambered for the .22 Magnum. cyl2.JPG
