SOLD. Rare unissued WWII M1916 holster made by Harpham Bros., Lincoln, Nebraska for use with a US Army Colt 1911A1 pistol. Harpham Bros at one time was the largest leather goods (saddles, holsters, horse collars, etc.) manufacturer in Nebraska and closed in the 1950s. This holster is in excellent, unissued condition. Early WWII era. Holster flap stamped "U.S.A" in oval, back of holster body stamped "Harpham Bros". There is no date stamp present. Nice, pliable, undyed tan leather. Holster has not been smashed or flattened. All stitching is original undyed cream color, very nice, tight and sturdy. Belt hook and interior leather block present. The inside of the flap is pristine. Hook has original black finish. Harpham Bros.-marked holsters were manufactured and issued only during WWII.
I bought this holster new as surplus almost 50 years ago and it remains in unused, unissued, undyed condition. There are the usual light rub marks and there is minimal verdigre on the two rivets and the flap stud. There is one scratch on the reverse, about 1" long, three inches above the tip of the holster as seen in the photo. This is a RARE unissued holster that would be a great match for a collector Colt 1911 or 1911A1 pistol. Asking $100. Ask if you would like additional photos. email rketcham1073@msn.com
