    Reconditioned by COLT in 1980 is this COLT Police Positive MFG 1971 Not fired since back from COLT. Mint finish.

    This gun is in on consignment. I will check with owner. No paperwork came with the gun at tis time

    There are no papers available. Original owner is deceased. Supplier of gun advised the gun was rebuilt and refinished in 1980 by COLT. It functions perfectly per my supplier

    Would Colt not blue the hammer and trigger and only polish sides of hammer-like factory guns, or not? Just asking why if differs.

    I don't know the answer to your question. The original owner, God rest his soul, may have wanted it this way. I guess COLT will do most anything you want as long as you pay for it.
