For your consideration, a somewhat rare variant from the very limited Colt production year of 1946. As noted in Clawson's Government Models pages 77 and pictured on page 83, also at www.coolgunsite.com in the '1911 Gallery', there were only a total production of 2000 .45 ACPs the first year after the war. All of these examples were built using the leftover USGI parts still on Colt's assembly line from when WWII ended. Also interesting to note, this is the only gun ever manufactured by Colt, that left the factory with two Rampant Colt rollmarks....... military rollmarks on the LH side of the slide, and Government rollmarks on the RH side. Of the original 2000, nobody know how many may remain. This example is absolutely correct and original, with easily 95% finish remaining.
