Colt Collectors Association Convention AR-15 Inquiry

I have been a member of the CCA for a couple of years and am trying to really ramp up my involvement. As the saying goes, an organization is only as active as its members. I am going to the 2019 convention in Frisco, TX and am interested in doing a display of the Colt AR-15 items that I have. However, there seems to be almost zero AR-15 activity in the CCA and I want to change that. I was hoping to find ideas for an AR-15 display in past convention photos but there just seems to be nothing to be found.

Do any of the members here go to the conventions? Do any of you display AR-15's or related items?

Do you mean the convention doesn't welcome Colt AR-15 collectors?

Those of us that focus on Colt AR-15's certainly seem to be an exception.

my guess is that the ar-15 will only grow in interest as younger collectors displace the old.

    go for it!

i'd sure enjoy such a display. good luck to you.

Would like to see a display of early SP1's, or a display of 1964 - current timeframe models.

    Perhaps magazine variations display.

If you have NFA, a 5320.20 no problem to TX, or the AZ show.

I did not say that. My words were intended to be a question. The majority of the interest APPEARS to be SAA. I’ll remove my post. I can see the writing on the wall.

68Python, I could only find photos of AR-15's being displayed at a convention one time...it was either the 2017 or 2018. See attached image. I would have loved to have seen the display.

The picture posted by Minuteman is of the Blickhan family at the 2017 Colt Convention in Saint Charles, Missouri. That family always has some of the most outstanding (and prize-winning) displays at the Colt Convention. C. J. Blickhan had the AR-15 display. (I believe that is C. J. second from the left.) It included Serial Number 156 and a rare .222 Remington-chambered AR-15. Unfortunately, he did not attend the 2018 convention in Concord, North Carolina. I had some unusual early magazines to show him, along with a Comanche manual, neither of which he had in his display.
