    Colt CM 762

I finally bagged one! Ive been drooling over them for some time now all year, and my favorite shop finally got one in. I had to pull the trigger. My next question, how well does the factory flash hider work, and is it worth replacing? Also, anyone know if theres any bolt carriers available anywhere? And possibly the adapter kit for the 5.56 uppers? Thanks guys! I love this thing already!

It looks like a standard AR flash suppressor so it probably works fine. I would expect it uses the same bolt carrier as the LE901 rifles which was proprietary to Colt. There is far less commonality in parts between different makes of 7.62 AR-type rifles than there is in 5.56 rifles.

On the previous 901 models they had what I call a three pronged hider, but from what I recall from mine they worked fine. I like your hand guard better than either one that came on my S or SE, but I like my front and rear sights better. I will admit it has a sleeker look with your front hand guard, almost like my Colt Competitions. Very nice looking.

Hopefully bolts are the same as the previous 901 and from time to time Brownells has them, but they are pricey at over $300.....and you used to find the adapters at Arms Unlimited but they are out of them now. They run about 150-175 bucks when you can find them. Here are my two 901s that you can see the flash hiders and the integrated front sights. Also notice the resemblance to the colt competition sleeker looks.

I appreciate that. I’ll keep an eye out on brownells. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the adapter as well.
I wasn’t expecting to find one of these in stock at my local shop after I saw most online retailers were out of stock. Ive shot the 901, and I fell in love with it. I was glad I didn’t have to resort to gunbroker, as the prices on there are high and selection was very limited from my search. I enjoy the m lok as well. I have it on a few other weapons and it works great and looks clean. I noticed the box still retains the 18” barrel length even though they’re 16. Lol

We are much too polite around here to ask what you paid for one but we’re you able to get it for less than MSRP?

Just for grins I checked a local gun shops web page here in north Texas and they show they have an adapter in stock. They are a great husband and wife team that run their shop out of their home and have some decent access to hard to find things. https://g4gguns.com/product/colt-mfg...conversion-kit

I got mine for 1530 after taxes, so it was really close. There were two places that I seen them for under 1400, but obviously out of stock. So I was surprised that I seen one in stock at a local shop for a tad over msrp. Several have them up to 2k or more.

That is a great price.....alas there are none here in Texas that I have seen. Very nice rifle. Now find an optic. I run a trijicon 4x with a .308 reticle on one and a Valdada 6x on the other.

I thought so too. These things are great. I was thinking of a 3.5x acog or possibly even an MRO. I live in the old mountains of Tennessee and plan to use this for everything from two legged vermin to hogs and black bear. One thing I don’t have though are really long shots. With summer vegetation Im lucky to get past 150yds in most places. I may go with the MRO for now til I decide on what magnified optic I wanna go with. If I know me, Ill probably get the ACOG. Lol.

US Armament has stripped Colt LE901 Bolt Carriers for $100. They also have the Carrier Key for $12 IIRC.
AU is out of complete 901 carriers.... Go look on GB for the listing.
