Time to buy that Colt Rifle- Colt Halts Production of Long Guns for the Retail Market

    https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/co...retail-market/

This same info was told to me by my local shop. They also were informed by a different Distributor. Not sure how long this will last, so if you wanted a Colt rifle, now's the time to buy.

Here's my Last two I've purchased. I'm up to 5 now.

    ***Update***

This from another source with Colt contacts:

so, word is its a slow down for 60 days the guy at RSR has supposedly been fired for sending out that email and colt has told RSR to release a statement on that. waiting to see when and if that happens.

Im hearing they are have orders for civilian production for this November with a big push for more of the SOCOM models

So how do they stay in business, selling only a few revolvers and 1911 patterns?

"They finally realize that the prancing pony isn't enough for this generation of shooters "..... The younger gun buyers don't care about Colt's guns they focus on pricing not brands. Colt's better get military contracts or they will be gone. I think Colt's is giving into political pressure as well and will bend over for military contracts.

My condolences. Glad you were able to save the boat though. Gotta look at the bright side.

    Rod,
Sorry to hear about your boating accident, hope no one got hurt.
I'll be at the OGCA/WACA show this weekend. WACA section, tables 2,3,4. It will be nice to catch up again.
Stop by if you get a chance.

I've seen it mentioned this afternoon that this isn't true. The truth appears to be that it's a slowdown for the next 60 days as they focus on LE/MIL contracts. I've seen it posted on Facebook and AR15.com.

Perhaps Colt thinks that the Senate will go along with the House and actually pass a new AWB. But if so will President Trump sign it, I don't think so.
