Yes - been following your thread. FWIW - based on shipment dates (1000 per shipment for both 109,092 and 110,876) - chances are your puppy was shipped to the New York Arsenal - Governor's Island, NY in April of 1863.

It would be good to know which were three screw and four screw models.

This is an example of a letter - it doesn't mention 3 or 4 screws. Now, some descriptions do mention it - will go back and add those to my listings.

I searched through all 214 and made the list available on the first page of this thread. I will keep it updated as well. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Are you looking for those that have lettered? This one was never lettered below.
I sold this 1860 Army to a friend last year. It is 142XXX.
He may be along shortly with questions.

I am looking for Armies that we can associate to a Shipment Date and/or Shipped To and/or Soldier Receiving Army. I can find hundred's on the net that were sold (or being sold) but need to know something about the Army (not that it just existed). Thanks!

Here is my 1860 Colt Army revolver serial #13986. All numbers match including the wedge. Reproduction case by Bill's Cases, has original bullet mold & nipple wrench. Has been in my family for at least 75 years, belonged to my Grandfather & I don't know where he acquired it. Can you tell me anything about who or where it was shipped. I have not have had this lettered. Thanks Leigh1860 colt 1.jpg1860 colt 2.jpg1860 colt 3.jpg1860 colt 4.jpg

Nice looking Army. Hopefully a member will jump in with some help. If any member has an Army (with letter detailing Date of Shipment, Shipped To, etc.) that I don't have posted - please provide the data so I can add it to my list.

    Thanks!

Have you done any reseach on pre 1860 colts?, if so i am sure he forum would like to know. This is very interesting:- Near the end - workers simply grabbed whatever usable parts there were on the floor and in the warehouse and assembled them into new (mis-matching) Armies, used the parts for repairs, etc. Thanks for the post very interesting bit of research.Kind regards,ALSS.

Thanks for the kind words ALSS. I have collected antique S&W's for a while and couldn't resist getting a 1860 Army - the rest is history!

    Thanks again.
