    @gunner5

    That really makes me envious, that is a great collection

    Is that Paterson case with the accessories also from the Signature Series? I know only the glastop case with just the Paterson.

    The 3rd generation Colt Patersons (whether in the production or engraved version) were not offered in a presentation case, nor were the accoutrements available from Colt. These revolvers were sold in the standard 3rd generation box (see below).

    The presentation case that my Paterson is in is from the U.S. Historical Society and was made in 1989 to house their Texas Paterson reproduction revolver and accoutrements. After the original owner of the case sold the contents, he offered the case for sale as a separate item - which I purchased. This case has an additional sliding drawer where I keep a copy of the book "Paterson Colt Pistol Variations" by Phillip R. Phillips and R.L Wilson.

    The accoutrements were custom made by the 'Paterson Accessories Company' located in the U.K. (I believe that the company is no longer in business).

    There are much more guns offered but either the pictures are of real bad quality or no S/N is pictured or mentioned in the descrbtion.
    Thanks so much and they are now recorded in my notes. I had some but not all of these in my records. 1860 serial 214415 extends the range of this model. Can you reference which auction it was? The reason is that I personally am trying to document the lowest and highest in order to be more "scientific" in this endeavor. I'd like to see this auction.

    Also, 3rd Dragoon 21182. This may be a second gen.

    Thanks again. And thanks to all that supplied numbers. The database is growing.

    I think you are right with the 3rd Dragoon S/N 21182, this should be a 2nd generation, obviously I browsed through to many auctions :-)

    The 1860 Army S/N 214415 I have found at Collectors Firearms in Houston TX.

    Colt 3rd Generation Signature Series 1860 Army .44 for sale.

    now that I have the 2nd Generation Cap & Ball revolver series almost completed (just the Walker is missing) and all of them except the 2nd model Dragoon in a case with all accessories I will start completing the line with that revolvers from 3rd Generation which where not made in 2nd Generation like 1849 Pocket, Whitneyville Hartford Dragoon, 3rd Dragoon as 4 screw model and with fluted cylinder and of course the Paterson.

    Since I still have one Dragoon without a case I'm still looking for one with all Colt accessories (2nd or 3rd Generation, not Italian made), if one of you has such a case for sale, let me know it.

    I am collecting numbers for ALL Signature Series guns. The ones I didn't list are because I don't have enough data (serials) to be meaningful yet. Yours is only the second Trapper I have an actual number for. Thank you!

    flintgunner, that sounds like a repro of some sort, not a 2nd Gen or Signature Series. There are no 3 digit serial numbers among the 2nd Gen and Sig Series Walker's, as far as I know. If you can post pictures there's a good chance somebody can identify it.

    Edit: some commemorative editions may have 3 digit serial numbers.
