    COLT 1860 Engraved

I acquired an 1860 Colt engraved in the Young style and silver plated.
    The case is English.
The powder flask is made in sterling silver.
The ball mold is silver plated.
On the barrel the colt markings have been canceled and replaced by "Colonel James E. Childe " ...
There is also a marking on the grip "4Th Pa Cav"
I would like to have information on this revolver
    Thank you all.

Well either Wikipedia is wrong or the engraver messed up, OR the e is really an s. James Child(s?)(e?) was promoted to Colonel on March 12th 1862. He was killed at Antietam. Looks like he was the 2nd Commander of the 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry.

Looks like a 2nd Gen nicely got up to a 1st Gen style. I’d be proud to own it.
