Follow Up - Factory Letter Received

It has the T stamp above the serial number and a letter has been requested. I'm hoping it has an interesting shipping destination but I have been skunked on about 9 out of 10 letters so far.
Does anyone know when the color case hardened ejector rod heads were phased out ? This one is full blue.
I received my Factory Letter today almost exactly 4 months after ordering. I expected a 1936 date per RL Wilson's TBOCF but the charts are off. This one had a manufacturing date of 5/11/39 and shipping date of 6/5/39 to Belknap Hardware in Louisville, KY. It was one of two Dick Specials in the shipment. The serial number is in low 447,800 range.
No mention of the records showing Targeted, I asked Paul to check that so I assume there was no notation. I was hoping for a shipment to some place interesting like a police department but it was just to another large hardware distributor. You roll the dice and take your chances.

It might not have gone to somebody famous, but I think you did just fine with that DS. Congratulations.

The post-72 (top) was made in 75 and purchased by my grandfather that same year. He gifted it to me for my 16th birrthday in 1984. Somehow I have managed to hold onto it over the past thrity-six years. Many years ago ,before my department changed the weapon policy, I qualified with it and carried it for a couple weeks during my first stint as a detective (2003-2006) just for the heck of it. The bottom DS I won in an auction about a month ago. It was manufactured in 1967. I had to purchase the wood grips separately, but they were worth it.

My photo skills aren’t great so I tried something different. If the link works, it will be a 1 minute video of my 2nd issue (1961)
