    Trooper questions

    Hey everyone:

I got got one of those great texts from a friend yesterday- the “hey I thought of you because it’s a Colt...”

An elderly person passed away and the Trooper shown below was in the nightstand. The immediate relatives wanted nothing to do with it so it made its way to my friend. He’s not a revolver guy which led to him reaching out to me.

Serial number indicates it was made in 1968.

These were I frames right? Is that a target hammer?

No box. Value? I think he plans to sell it- as I said, not a revolver guy.

    thanks-

Yes...it's an I-frame. It has both the target hammer and target stocks...both were optional and an upgrade from the standard service hammer and stocks. Based solely on the photos that's probably an $800-$900 piece depending on different areas of the country. The stocks alone are worth $200-$250.

    That's a helluva fine revolver.

If that Trooper was kept in the holster someone took good care of it.
I like the 4 inch Trooper, as well as the 3-5-7.
