    Another DS Box Research Question

I'm also trying to pinpoint the dates for the woodgrain exterior cardboard box/2 piece styrofoam liner with the "Barcoded" label:

Does anyone have an example earlier than 1978?
Does anyone have an example later than 1982?
    Thank You...

Wood grain boxes showed up about 1974 replacing the two-part boxes and used until about 1985 when the red anniversary box replaced it. The first 1-2 years the styrofoam was brownish/beige, and by 1976 became traditional white. The 1974-1979ish labels were gold foil with handwritten details. In about 1980 the gold labels ended. Handwritten labels were used in 1980 for most guns, and as late as 1983 for slower shipping models that sat on the shelf. White bar code labels were used about 1981-1985/6. Yellow bar code labels replaced them. Blue boxes with picture sleeves and white labels were used from late 80s through mid 90s when the sleeve was discontinued in favor of the label applied directly to the box. All labels regardless of type have evolved. It is an art rather than science to tell real from fake. There are a few tells, but the only way to get good at it is to look at hundreds/thousands.

I don’t do too much with newer guns, so don’t have a ton of examples, but here are a few from my phone. Not necessarily DS labels, but the look would be similar.

Gold label from 1977, yellow from 1988 and white from 1995.

I'm only asking these two questions about the box style in question:

Does anyone have an example earlier than 1978?
Does anyone have an example later than 1982?

    Thank You...

See my examples above. DS labels looked similar.
