So Colt is making revolvers again? is the new King Cobra available in 6" barrel?

So I just saw for myself today that Colt has released the King Cobra again. I had no idea. I'm in crappy California and I see the 2 and 3 in. barrels here. Do they make the 6" too and does anyone know if I can get it in california if they do make it? I'm more curious if it's even being made more than anything..... thanks...

Welcome to the Colt Forum. Keep in mind the Colt's new Cobra and King Cobra are not an extension of the previously made models, but all new toolings.

The KC has yet to be released in a 6" version, as mentioned above, has no adjustable sights and is a completely new model. Glad you joined us.

No 6" yet, but there is a new 4" KC with adjustable sights coming out "real soon now" that many of us have been waiting for. It's already showing up at some distributors and dealers websites though not yet available (google part number S4BTS).

Note that the New Cobra and New King Cobra are small frame revolvers very similar to the old Colt "D" frame models like the Detective Special and Diamondback.

The New King Cobra is equivalent to the old Diamondback only in .357 at this time.
Likely there will be other calibers and barrel lengths in the future.

Colt seems to be following my advice & introducing an adjustable sighted 4.25" barrel. The extra barrel length is for export sales. (S&W & Ruger both make their revolvers with 4.25" barrels) You know that the 6" version is next followed by a .22LR version. I'm likin' it!!

I could be wrong but it looks like Colt has copied the barrel tube & shroud construction of S&W's new model 19/66.
    Anyone confirm that?

    Gawd...I hope not. If I want a S&W I'll buy a S&W.
