    MKIII Officers Model Match

My second Officers Model Match .38 came my was today. I’ve seen about a dozen over the years and always assumed that all were in .38 (496 made, 350 exported, 146 sold in U.S.). I just noticed that the insert lists .38 Special and .22 LR. I have never seen one in .22. Has anyone ever seen one?

I don't believe Colt ever followed through with the other calibers. Sort of like the .22 Python.

All my sources list the OMM Mark III as being made only in .38 Special.
By 1969 virtually no one used a revolver in .22 matches, the autos had dominated by then.

Happy to hear it. I didn’t want to feel like a failure for not having one. LOL

I am in awe and jealous that you have one, been looking for years but not willing to pay exorbitant prices some were asking.

I actually have two, but I paid in the $3,200-$3,300 range for each of them. Not sure if you consider that exorbitant. Three have sold in shooter condition without box from the same seller on Gunbroker over the past several months and have gotten $1,800-$2,300 each.

Thanks for sharing that. I realize their rarity so at this point just looking at a very fine copy is enough. I have 1-2 of each model, usually one .38 and one .22, and a .22 magnum, just missed a OMM III a couple of years ago so I will keep an eye peeled for a nice shooter example.
