    Colt New Army from TGCA

My wife and I spent last weekend at the Texas Gun Collector Show in Denton, Tx. It was a good show. I saw a lot of very nice guns being bought and sold. Below is one of the revolvers I purchased. Lucien M. Wiler is engraved on the back strap. According to the letter it was done at Colt. The revolver shipped to Captain Lucien M. Wiler, state of Pennsylvania. He served in the Span-Am War and retired as a Colonel.

Great-looking gun. And the provenance is outstanding.

It’s interesting that the Captain was apparently so enamored of the .38 US Army Model he would have been issued at the time that he ordered himself the identical civilian version, engraved and obviously not carried much subsequently.

Randy. You couldn't find one in better condition? Just kidding, what a terrific gun. I have never seen a better example and to have it inscribed as well is just amazing. Congratulations on a wonderful acquisition.

Randy, Great find, and the fact it letters with the inscription makes it that much more special. I wonder where in PA it was shipped too?
