Another New Service added to the collection

A recent addition to our collection is the New Service revolver that belonged to Bill Jordon while he was a Patrol Inspector with the Border Patrol of the U.S. Immigration Service. Jordan was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Reagan. He served for over 30 years with the U.S. Border Patrol. He also served as a U.S. Marine during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve as a colonel. He wrote numerous articles on all aspects of firearms, as well as books such as No Second Place Winner, Mostly Huntin' and Tales of the Rio Grande.i

    Thanks for viewing,

    Cam

I remember reading Bill's articles when gun rags were worth reading. I miss the likes of Bill Jordan, Skeeter Skelton, Elmer Keith, Charlie Atkins, and some others memory can't come up with at the moment or I can't spell their names!..Like Finn Agarad or something similar? Great writers who lived it!

Anyway, that's a great addition to your collection!

Gosh...that is a wonderful piece to even see. Wonderful that you get to own it for a while. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Bill Jordan lived a full life. Well deserving of that medal.

Interesting that it is a square butt 38 with lanyard loop and hard rubber stocks. Those features were not on most 38 special new services.
