Calling all 1861 Navy 3rs gen owners

Trying to determine just how many 1861 3rd gen revolvers (signature series) were made. Just cannot find production data anywhere for these 3rd gen guns. The second gen guns began at number 40000 and ended at number 43165. Maybe the 3rd gen began at 43200 or 43500 or something like that. If anybody would care to share the serial number of their 1861 (with the last few digits Xed out if desired) that may help us determine at least a rough estimate of the beginning and the end. My 1861 has a number of 449XX:

This is 52347. It came in a box labeled "the authentic Colt Blackpowder Series." I thought it was second generation, but maybe it's not? I don't understand the generations very well. This number is way outside the limits you were mentioning.

Mine is S/N 43280. Also serial number data from R.L. Wilson's book on Colt firearms.
