    Det Spls. -'29','57 and '71

    Here are some pics of the bottom of the grip frame- The 1929 has the full frame with "straight" corners, the 1957 has full frame with rounded corners and the 1971 has the short frame (that came out I think around 1966) . These are the 3 main grips frames for the DS's (I believe):

    Is there also a 'skinny' long frame square butt on the early pre-DS?
    Like an early PPS?
    Non-DS, but pre-DS, Like a 2" PPS?

    Yes I think the pre DS also had the long butt frame But I think it may have been narrower -old police positive special frame- I would have to go look at the books I may check tommorow
    Bayouboy would definitely know what difference between the pre Ds and the square butt,stampoed DS of 1927

    Neat! I'm a fan of the round butt revolvers myself. They just look a little more "finished" to me.
