Colt 1911 model us army 1918? What’s it worth?

Hello all, the following pistol is offered to me from an estate of our friend .
Is serials is #246xxx. Is has had a reblue and some sanding done on frame. I have several 1911 but not familiar with these early models. The estate wants me to price to sell ?
    Can you help value ?

Pretty heavy Buff job and reblue 500-750 in my opinion maybe a little more for a beginning collector. Truman

The refinish has killed collector interest, and the estate wants you to "price to sell". It will sell quickly as a $400 shooter, and will languish as unsold at $900.

I'd tell them to ask $600 and take $450.

If it has the correct barrel and magazine, it would sell in my area for 750-800 quickly. If you price it for 400 or 450 let me know!

The magazine is aftermarket for sure, the barrel not sure? It has no markings on top of barrel where you see from slide? But does have two letters stamped at barrel lug link, S or A or P? If that helps.. Trying to help family for future cost of loved one.. not looking to steal it or best someone, just fair price...seems like 500 to 700 is Fair...?

After thinking about it I am changing my mind. Since you are trying to help them out, tell them to ask $800 and settle for about $550. It's easy to lower your price if there are no bites, but you can't raise your price once you throw a number out there.
    Cheers,
    Walter

My gosh what has happened that cause even reblued 1911s, made in the millions, to go for so much? When the next generation tries to flip them, and hundreds appear every month on the market, they're going to be stuck.
