Colt 1911 Marine custom shop to avoid?

Sorry for the description. I have a line on the Colt Marine Custom shop pistol. I think I read somewhere that early versions had a not so durable coating. How do I know which to avoid if I don’t want the less durable coating?
Sorry if my description seems too vague. I’d research it myself but it would take me days to do so.
    I’m old. Lol.
Any help would certainly make you a new friend.

The particular one I’m looking at is:
Two Tone Flat Dark Earth Frame Finish
    Black Slide Finish

All of them are desirable as a custom shop gun, custom shop CQB that is. The two finishes are cerakote and Ionbond. Ionbond took the place of the cerakote. The early cerakote finish did not hold up to the USMC use, but cerakote is now the finish on many brands and models of firearms. I own several in both finish types and would not avoid either. It’s really just your preference , in my opinion. The tan Ionbond looks more bronze as compared to the tan cerakote.

That particular one is going to be ionbond finish, so you should be good to go.

There were two different two tone Cerakote custom shop versions, one had opposite color scheme (black frame, FDE slide) and the other had a grey frame. So if slide is black and frame is FDE, it's ionbond.
what would you say and RPD57 like this.

Stay away from Cerakote. Ionbond replaced the Cerakote version for a reason.
    Go with the Ionbond version.
