    serial number help

Researching info for a friend. He is looking at a recently made Government Model Lew Horton edition. The serial number begins with SCC. Can someone please enlighten me so that I can pass along good information to him? This model is outside of my interest. Thanks, Butch2

Once you have the full serial# follow the link to the Colt MFG website serial# data base. The data base is a work in progress....but it may show the year for yours.

And contact Lew Horton via email with as much information as you can including the complete serial number. They'll be able to give you more specific details about the pistol if it was their offering. Good luck.

To the best of my knowledge the serial number is SCC0069xx. I believe it to be a fairly recent production Government Model with a few special features. Thank you.

Yes sir Lonestar57, I believe that is it, thank you. Can you tell me does the SCC prefix have any special meaning or does it just happen to be a random series of letters?

I'll guess at it but it's only a guess; Stainless Colt Custom?

As has been suggested, call LH and talk with Earl Minot. He's a great guy and very helpful. Do it soon as they are closing their doors shortly.
