    Boxed Colt Super Match

Ran across this listing this morning. Don't see many of these for sale. Already off to a good start. Will be interesting to watch.

You know the test target couldn't be right. A Super .38 that head spaces off the rim could never shoot that good!!!!

Incorrect stocks, but that is an easy fix.

Yes, I'd almost bet it had target stocks on it at one time. Someone used it to shoot. Original stocks probably set aside and forgotten years ago.

I watched one sell several years ago in Tulsa for $5K in the box and also pictured in the book.....

I had bought a really nice 1920 45 from the guy and never asked the price on the 38 just kind of assumed it would be above my pay grade..... I could have borrowed that much....makes for a good story now....RR

It is a bit odd that is has the Swartz safety but the letter doesn't mention it.

Kevin, the Swartz safety (new safety device) wasn't always listed in the records. By 1940 it may have been considered standard equipment. The good news is (as you know) the NSD sticks out like a sore thumb. It either has the feature, doesn't have the feature or has the cutouts without the feature.

My thread was posted about the gun, not the seller.
