A beautiful find Sir !!
...right place, right time...
.
I had a table at the Yuma, AZ Show this past weekend and there was a widow selling off her late husband's
guns, all rifles and shotguns except for his personal carry pistol a pretty nice Colt Super .38.
It came with badly warped and shrunken Coltwood grips so I slapped some grips on it from my pile.
The nice lady later came by my table and dropped of the ammo the gun had been loaded with when her husband passed.
It's the kind of handgun you can expect to be carried along the border.......

Leo, you are some kind of gun magnet.
!!
Feedom ain't Free!
Those grips are beautiful, and were made for that gun. a perfect match.
I have said it before, I generally am not a fan of nickel plated guns, but those dual tone Colt automatics sure are attractive. Those ivory stocks are the icing on the cake too.
Smooth look, like the clocked screws. Very nice!

I own a duo-tone blue one in that SN range. Your nickel one is much nicer looking!! It is scarce in that finish.
