    Another 1911A1 barrel question -- 1944 GHD

Since I've owned this 1944 GHD I have always questioned if the barrel was correct for my 1911A1. I have read many of the posts which leads me to understand that it just might be. The barrel has a small F in front of the lug but the lug marking on the left is difficult to make out. There is no marking on the right side of the lug.
    Opinions please

1944 production was from the 1.1 to 1.7 million serial number range, and the F in front of the lug was common in this range. The marking on the left side of the lug would be the P proof mark.

Thanks JohnnyP. Now I will check the wear markings to determine if it may be original to the gun.
