    New colt price help

Need to lean on my Colt brothers to help guide me in not doing something stupid.
I know what Series 70 Mark IV pistols are worth but not up on current production guns.

Got a buddy offering up his Series 70 Model O 100 year stainless .45 NIB for $950.00

Made an offer of $900.00 but no go. He has not done anything but fondle it since purchase.
    Buy it?

You guys are being hard nosed over $50? So go $925 and everyone is reasonably happy.

Seriously, $950 is not an unfair price... you like the gun, give him the money... and then make him take you out to breakfast before you go shooting.

No matter what, unless it`s an outright steal price you always make an offer He just might take it. I`ve done that many times on old car purchases.
The issue was I really don`t need it but it sure is purdy and like everyone else here I`m a sucker for a Colt .45. That`s why I have so darn many. I thought I was giving a fair offer and will probably step up and give him what he`s asking. Looks like Gunbroker is all over the place on these but none that cheap.

    Thanks for the imput.

Went out and fetched my new Series 70 last night and paid full asking price. I`ll post a pic tomorrow after a thorough cleaning.
    I`m happy with it.

I'm jealous. Still waiting for my new colt to show up at the gun shop. I paid for it two and a half months ago. People are crazy over a new in the box series 70. I've been seeing them go for 1200 - 1300 on Gun Broker.

I'm gonna get one too. Old one or new one, whichever comes along first. Can't wait! It'll be my first Series 70.
