Just got back from the gun auction.. all I got was Colt 1903

I missed out on 3 Colts revolvers ... All I was able to win was this. Got a good deal. Don't know too much about it except that it's .32 and that it was built around 1917.MayAuct314_1.jpgMayAuct314.jpg... What do guys think..

$350. You got to remember I live in California so guns go higher here. I lost 3 bids on 3 Colt DA revolvers today so I thought I would go all the way and bring this baby home. These are the best pictures till I bring her home.

You got a good deal. I live in California too. What auction did you go to? Did they have any more colts automatics? Colt super 38's?

    What auction did you attend?
Do they handle sales as a PPT?

That thing is exactly like what you might expect in a hugely popular pistol from early in the last century. It will clean up nice, and generally, they shoot good.
Even if the bore is mosly just a hole, it will work adequately if the chamber is in fair shape.
Be mindful that it has all the beat-up appearance of a true veteran, and ought to be kept just like it is.
There are lots of guys here who can steer you for parts, magazines, and such. Some of these birds have dozens of 'em! Can't say as I blame 'em, either. Those are some of the greatest guns ever built.
The actual cost of such a thing varies widely by region, but for your situation, I think you did as well as could be expected. $350 might be the goin' price in a lot of places. Look at it this way: you could always spend more.......

Thanks Oberon .. I intend to keep her all original .. She's a keeper.. As far as the auction.. Would it make me a bad Colt forum member if I don't share the auction name? .. Just not yet anyways. I had a hard time bringing home the Colts that I wanted to much competition .. so thats why. I dont want to divulge my source yet..

That's all you got? And you paid $350 for it? I'd toss it in the lake - NOT! Congrats, that is an absolute beauty!!
