    FFL required for non-dealer transactions?

I just committed to the purchase of a handgun from an individual in Virginia. I'm in Arizona. Is the seller required to obtain a copy of a destination FFL?

Recently a BATF agent told me it was strongly recommended. As you may know, there is a govt website where you can verify if a person is a dealer.

Normally the purchaser will have a relationship with a local FFL. The purchaser will provide the seller with a copy of the FFL and the gun will be shipped to the address on the FFL.

Ask a gun dealer in your state what the laws are there. In IL any gun I purchase has to ship to a FFL where I fill out paperwork and pick up gun. States may vary. Others may chime in on state to state transfers and Federal laws. You don't want to take any chances breaking State or Federal laws regarding a gun transfer, your local gun store should be able to answer all your questions and assure a legal transfer.

In order to send the firearm through the USPS it must be shipped FFL to FFL; from an individual to an FFL the shipping individual will need a copy of the Receiving FFLs license in order to ship it through UPS or FedEx (according to their policies they want a copy).

I just acquired a 1905 colt 45 with a 3 digit serial number mfg in 1906. I have been looking for a quality one for a while. Caught this as soon as it was listed. It has about 70% bluing with all original parts. Wooden grips are not cracked or chipped and are in very good condition. I think you can throw the book out on value because they are so hard to find. I have seen refurbished ones go for $4500-5,000. What is your opinion on value ? thanks for your time! Next the 1907 lol
