Polishing to single digit microns created my Hubble OCD. It started out innocent then came the high power microscope. After that comes subatomic dreams and then you become hopelessly lost in the weeds.

Just for the fun of it, I emailed Mothers to ask the number they rated Mothers Mag/Wheel Polish in grit/micron. They responded it was proprietary! They continued if I was unhappy, they would make it right and Mothers Metal Billet Polish was the best they made. I responded I didn’t want the formula, just a number. I resubmitted my question to yes or no for 1 micron or less. No response yet. We may not know the micron size but you can bet it causes cancer in California.

ABSOLUTELY, and will do so FAST.

    ALL metal polishes are abrasive.
Every time you use one on a blued or nickel finish, a thin layer is removed. That's what the black stains on the polishing rag are..... removed finish.
