Do Police Positive small parts fit a PPS

Would an earlier Police Positive or PPS cylinder latch with checkering fit a later model PPS with a smooth latch?
Same for an earlier hammer with cross-checkering on the spur to replace the later hammer with straight-across lines.
My PPS is a '77 - 3rd model, just before the change to MK-IV
Thanks in advance, and any warnings are appreciated.

    "Maybe".
The Police Positive and Police Positive shared most of the same parts, but part dimensions did change slightly over the years.
A cylinder release would probably interchange, but I don't think a pre-war hammer would fit a post-war PPS correctly.

The only time I saw any issue with small frame hammers was when someone installed a very late PPS hammer into an 80's Detective Special. The hammer seemed not to be "tall" enough for some reason, but the owner said it worked.

Thanks. I suspected a hammer swap might be iffy.
