"Wes Hardin" two gun hideout rig

Regulars around here might be sick of seeing this one, but I just posted it elsewhere discussing John Wesley Hardin guns and holsters. He supposedly wore such a rig, according to Jim Gillette and Elmer Keith mentions it in "Sixguns". I used to wear this at cowboy shoots under a coat and people thought I was unarmed. The gun butts are tight to the body and do not wobble. The concept works. Too bad I'm just heavier enough now for it to barely fit. This was an earlier picture.

Did you sell that rig or do you still have it?

I still have it. Once in a while when I'm in thrift shops I look for another cheap suit vest to maybe make another one of these for myself. Check out this famous Hardin picture. Do you see the bulge of a sixgun a little ways down under is left arm? If so, it looks like a very high ride waste belt. Unless he really did have a vest rig and his guns hung lower than mine.

Vest carry, down low like that, makes a lot of sense. Decades ago I expected LEOs to make the switch to mesh 'tactical' vests to carry all such things but it didn't happen. An avenue that Safariland (the parent company, not the holster arm of it) somehow allowed to slip past them.
