Many years ago I was able to trade with Jim to get his fabulous S&W .22 (I think it is a pre 17 K22) with the most spectacular mesquite grips I've ever seen - thought I would share
Those are amazing! Those might be the prettiest grips of Jim's I ever saw. Your photography helps us appreciate them. Here's the one's on his old 2nd Model .44 Special. He thinned them and removed the checkering in top picture. Still has checkering when I shot it and he's holding it here.
Wish I had a picture....my Uncle made a set of Mesquite grips for my Grandpa's birthday one year, to go on a short barreled nickel .41c SAA. I thought they looked gorgeous, but so are those the OP posted. Absolutely remarkable!
Amazing grips from an amazing man. I spent over and hour on the phone with Jim when he did an action job for me and I could have spent 2 more hours just talking to the man. He is a talking encyclopedia when it comes to single actions.
A side note about these mesquite grips,to the best of my knowledge there are only 7 pair of grips made from this rare mesquite in existence. Thanks for all the compliments guys.
