marrunred,
Did you ever find what the Marines use as issued holster for the M45A1? I would like to have one just to go with the gun.

I decided to go with the Galco Fletch FL212 high ride holster, problem was it was going to be on backorder, so while the Galco was on order I also ordered one in stock from MidwayUSA.com https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1019469547?pid=173062 Product #: 173062
Manufacturer #: 44566
UPC #: 730745445667 Triple K 440 Lightning Strong side/crossdraw holster to use until the Galco got here. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Triple K holster and the Colt M45A1 CQBP Marine fit perfectly. I wrapped it in some wax paper and holstered in a couple of days then began working it in and out and around inside the holster which is breaking in nicely with the exception of the sharpness of the Novak Night Fision front sight blade still cutting in a bit.
Odd. "Lightning" was once a hard-won trademark (from Colt) of Bianchi Holsters'; why and when did they let it get away from them? P.S. the wax paper thing is a myth like the plastic bag, for improving fit: it's the pistol itself that reshapes the holster, the purpose of paper or bag was to keep the wet holster from affecting the metal of the pistol (and you didn't wet it, did you). The extra layer does nothing at all for the holster itself.
