What's the latest on the Standard Mfg SAA?

I saw this the other day after having forgotten about it:

SAA Revolver - Standard Mfg. Co. LLC

Supposedly built on USFA's machinery with consulting by USFA's old owner. I have seen no updates anywhere after about March last year. Anyone have a "scoop" on these, real or unobtainium? I wanted a STG from Hill and Mac and they have been "next month" for about two years now. Is this pistol really in the works?

The pictures make it look great. I hope we get to see a real one someday soon.

I asked them on Facebook while they were at SHOT and answering a lot of customer questions online. They answered, said they felt they were close on their single action.

At $1,595 per copy I would expect a superior built revolver.

Standard Manf featured the single action at last years 2017 SHOT show. I remember viewing the feature from Gunblasts YouTube video interviewing them. Was it a feature this year’s show also ?

I suspect they have discovered they can't produce a "superior built revolver" at that price in the US. Maybe they'll farm production out to China like everything else.

I would say they can if they do it right. They just can't do like USFA did and try to make every little part in house.

I had forgotten about this also, especially after I received a very snippy answer from their rep via email. I can't remember the details, but my interpretation of it was that I should go buy something else and quit bothering them.

Maybe if everyone interested sent a non-returnable $250 deposit or, better still, full payment up front with an order?

Maybe they can model the production after Colt or Ruger by farming out various parts.
