Idiocy of a new cable show.

There's a new cable show on starring a bunch of fairly boob-like people at a gun store and gunsmithing company in Utah.
Last show they destroyed a Thompson Semi-automatic carbine by turning it into a garish modern rifle of some sort, and rebuilt a WWII flame thrower.

As a safety precaution when testing the flame thrower one of them was standing by with a medium size standard dry chemical fire extinguisher.
Had the tanks failed that would be like having a bottle of water handy if a car was on fire.
Needless to say, had the tanks failed the man wearing it on his back would have been a huge human torch.

What just made my mouth drop was a supposed master gunsmith discussing a Colt 1851 Navy revolver, which he declared was not a rifled pistol and was worth up to $80,000.

True enough, these "reality" shows are scripted and often genuine experts say scripted statements that are wildly incorrect but this show is really pushing it.

That show is about as silly as they come. I doubt if will last long.

Reality shows are far from reality. If they did portray actual reality, the majority of folks watching would be completely bored (except for us true gun nuts), and the ratings would plummet.

I did start watching that show. Lasted less than 15 minutes. I then tuned the TV to a Christmas cookie baking championship. I don't like cooking shows … but it was still better.

That show sucks bad... scripted stupid fake like the show with the guy and his family from Colorado who went to jail, about the 1851 he said if you call Colt it could possible be worth up to 3k all the way to 80k depending on....etc.

I record it and watch an episode if I think something on it looks interesting. I agree that it has even more misinformation than many other gun shows, but my philosophy is to record every gun show on TV, good or not. The idea is if enough people watch gun shows, networks will support them more and make more of them and we'll get some good shows. So I support every gun show, bad or not.

I hate the way Hollywood portrays gun people and won't watch reality TV because it isn't reality. It isn't even entertainment.

It's like hot rod shows. They all stink for real enthusiasts, but in 10 years these guys will be making millions on T shirt sales because John Q. Citizen is dumb enough to fall for the show's foolishness!
