Where do I need to go and what do I need to see in New Orleans?

My Wife and I will be travelling to New Orleans in a few weeks and I want to be prepared. I will have some free time to hit local gun stores, where are the best places to find a nice old Colt? Then of course, what else do we need to do while we are there? Thanks!

You can get a PT Boat ride out on Lake Ponchatrain. I think that is through the WW2 Museum. It's a totally restored PT boat that was originally built down there somewhere.

I hope to visit the WWII museum there next year as we're planning a Mississippi river cruise on a paddle-wheeler. New Orleans was chosen due to the famous "Higgins Boats" were built there along with Higgins PT Boats. The Higgins Boats were absolutely instrumental in making victory possible. Eisenhower said the Higgins Boats were absolutely among the most important tools that helped win the war.

My Wife and I used to go there regularly. Just do a google search on your phone "Area gun stores" when you get there. A suggestion. New Orleans is a wonderful place but it is also a place where crime has gone crazy in. Have eyes in the back of your head and always stay in a crowd.

The WWll museum is awesome and you have to try a Hurricane from Pat O' Briens. They invented that drink. Be careful with them too, they are dangerously good! A couple of them can knock you on your A$$ very fast.

Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee,Audubon Zoo uptown.
Deanies’s Seafood by the lake in Bucktown.
    Drago’s seafood for charbroiled oysters.
    ww11 museum .
At the foot of Canal st walk on the ferry that crosses the Mississippi River to Algiers. Don’t get off,the ferry will load up bring you right back. A great view of the city from the river.

Chalmette Battlefield where Battle of New Orleans took place. Take a very short ride to Lafitte and walk through the swamp on trails and or take a swamp tour on one of the boats.
Then go to Boutte’s Bayou restaurant, in Lafitte, and a seafood platter.
    Have fun and stay safe!

Be careful in NO with the street people and bums. We never want to go back and don't walk around at night. Go to Cafe Du Monde and see Bourbon Street have fun and be safe. Don't forget to go to the St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. The French Quarter is very nice except for the bums.
